Stolen from my sisters blog. My family at thanksgiving. Take note that not only do we all have great style, but we all have similar style. That day Amber and I were wearing the same coat, and Matt, Micah and I were all wearing the same SHADE EVEN of purple. No, none of this was planned. Way to be kids. Oh, and this is us on Thanksgiving. We went to Sundance and it was amazing.

Playing Catch Up

First of all Christian had a birthday on Nov. 15th and we had a blast, also Thanksgiving with my family was amazing this year! BUT all the pictures from those occasions are on my moms camera and I haven't had time to upload them yet. So more recently we went to the Cabins in Wyoming right after thanksgiving with Christians family and had a blast. 1 minor problem was that there was NO SNOW! What the heck? Anyway we cut down trees and still had a blast. This is what we woke up to the first morning. An amazing sunrise.

Christians family came up a day later than us, and since it's easy to miss the turnoff for our cabins we put a landmark there to show them where to turn. His name is Cig. And thanks to the great people of Star Valley Wyoming, he was still there when we left. SO if you ever pass cig you'll know you're in the right place. Pull on over and have a cup of cheer.

Great Idea!

So we had this great idea to take my dads ranger and go with Gent and Chirsh up the canyon and make breakfast. Even though there was snow it was amazingly beautiful...and cold. But the beauty and company of our friends made it totally worth it!

Luckily for us, Chris managed to pop up in every one of our pictures together. We will be forever grateful to him for that, cause really...what is a picture without Chris' face? Right?
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to name this pose that I'm doing...but it's a good one!
I'm pretty sure I could win an award with this picture. Oh, ya that one too, but especially the one below. Me and Gent do look pretty good though so don't be surprised if we win one for that too.

So again there is photogenic (See above) and not photogenic (see below). Thanks a lot Christian. JK
And then there is all of us. What a blast we had. We're grateful for such awesome friends.

FALL!

FALL season= BEANIES! I'm getting more domestic as fall season comes around. Making hats is such a fun thing my mom taught me to do. I love it. If you buy the yarn and pay me 500 bucks I'll make one for you too! That's how much Christian and my little niece had to pay me, so really you'd be getting the family discount at that price. Just ask my little niece Halle. She doesn't have any more money in her piggy bank now. But it was for a good cause, look how cute it looks on her!

St. George with the Fam

Mya's favorite thing is the slide. She goes down it by herself! She's fearless. By the looks of Christians face he doesn't seem so fearless.
Hanging out.
Us with baby Tae.
Mya and Daddy.
A little game of tennis never hurt nobody. Except for me, when Christian hit it 150 miles an hour into my stomach!

Upper Silver Lake

And after...I pushed her off.

Summertime

Marc trying to convince Mya that swimming in the lake is super fun! Sadly for me Christian had to stay behind and work while my family and I enjoyed a sweet St. George trip. Way to be honey, I'm sure you had more fun than us anyway...
Not a big deal but yes it is. Rip Curl.
Hum, real cute fellas. And yes, they are both single. Call me with questions if interested.
Luke and Halle taking a boating break in St. George.
Titan swimming up AF Canyon. If you know any female Boxers, Titan is looking for a girl friend...
Heber Valley Rodeo. Geez glasses, get bigger! Right Erika?

Friends.

As I've been catching up on everyone's life through the blogging world I've come to realize how much I miss old friends. These are some of the things I miss. Who's Who?

-I could read you like a book. Look into your brown eyes and know the exact emotions and feelings you had inside. I learned a lot about life, growing up and deep connections from you.
-Born 11 days apart, we practically shared the same crib. Back then you were the tease. I guess I learned it from you. There's just something about a lifetime shared together. Whether we were always really close or not that's a bond that can't be broken.
-The DR. Need I say more? Detroit what?
-We fought a lot, we laughed a lot. What can I say? We lived together for basically 3 years if you count senior year. We did spontaneous random things that no one else would really get, but you got me. Like suran-wraping you to a stop sign at midnight.
-You taught me how to dance when I'm mad and upset. How to just rock out and be myself. That things don't always have to be resolved with deep conversation and strong emotion. You made up songs that made me laugh and songs that made me cry. Your family is amazing and I learned a lot from them. All the people who hate when I lobster them have you to thank.
-I should be jealous of how you can pull off any hair style in the world and look like a babe!!! But somehow with us jealousy was never an issue, oh wait, except when you gave me that black eye in the first grade for sitting too close to your brother. Ha ha
-Who's to say? Africa.
-Snowcones and you're kids who look exactly like me. I think they are mine actually and you got them by mistake. Gavin especially. Also you are one of the funniest people I know. We just get each other. Born different generations (eons really) but so very similar.
-You always knew when you needed to get to a gas station fast! And the ONE time you didn't make it to a gas station fast enough and I threw up out the window, spraying the outside of your car. You simply took me home, used our hose to clean off your car, and never even bothered to tell all our friends how gross it was that you had to clean up my throw up. And later that day you brought me Jamba Juice.
-Writing notes in a secret notebook and leaving it in the science/ASL room sink. Yo Yolonda?
-Singing together in the back of the HT van while everyone's asleep. And your comments that make me laugh out loud every time I read your blog. "Geez Trees, get taller!"
-Your facial expressions and the passion that we share in music, ie Missy Higgins. And that one time that you fell off a waterfall and I didn't save you.
-The way you're afraid of heights but you will do anything! I love how adventures you are! Climbing down a steep waterfall with a broken arm, sky diving when one of your biggest fears is heights, having to sit down on a narrow bridge because your chaffing and telling people they just need to step over you because you weren't moving.
-Your little stick shift truck we would all pile into and drive around singing Michael Jackson. Plus the way you laughed so hard you would cry. The time you got lots of blankets and put them in the back of the truck and told us to get in the back. Then you drove up to some big dirt piles and ran them over at 30 miles an hour while we bounced around in the back.
-Watching Salad Fingers secretly at work. You telling me about the mission in Mexico and laughing when I'd ask what you thought Christian was doing at that exact moment, and interpreting my letters when he used non-english words like "planched".
-Climbing trees in your front yard, going to Lake Powell, riding scooters to kohlers from your house to get drinks, you promising me you'll make me some tatoo shoes for my baby if I ever have one (that was just a reminder really).
-Playing at your moms pre school. Your birthday party and our bubble gum blowing contest. Me making you do back flips and back hand springs because I thought it was so cool.
-Your awesome laugh, your amazing decorating skills and all your vinyl lettering in your cute house. Your strength when you live alone with just your dog while your husband fights for our country, and how you always laugh at my stupid jokes to make me feel good.
-Your sense of humor. You make the funniest jokes with a straight face and I never know if you're joking or not. Being Erika's cousin I should know that you're rarely serious but still sometimes I don't know. That one time you and my brother pretended you were engaged when we went to JCWs.

Family

I'm grateful for;
A Mom and Dad who taught me one of the most powerful types of love.
A beautiful sister who prayed for me before I was born and could be my twin! ;)
Two little sisters who teach me about strength and endurance.
A brother who used to stay up until 1 am playing cars with me and who would hug me extra long to let me know he loves me.
A brother who is always looking out for me and helps me believe that anything is possible!
A brother who teaches me about patience and kindness, probably the most patient person in our family besides mom!
A sister in law who is sweet and reserved unlike the rest of us. She's a breath of fresh air in our family!
A brother in law who has always had the strength and faith to do what he knows is right.
Nieces and Nephews that make me feel a happiness that no one else could!
And a Husband who has been my very best friend since the 9th grade, who is patient, kind, selfless, loving, determined, hard working, good looking, athletic, sweet............

News Feed!

My cousin Kristi is ENGAGED!!! This is me and Amber at her wedding shower. It was a hoot and it's always fun getting together with the cousins. Even if we all think the same and we all got her the same wedding gift (SHARI!). Oh well. But really, Congrats Kris! I'm so excited for you.

And THIS is my niece Mya holding my newest niece Taylen. What a beautiful sight. I love it when our family expands. She's a beautiful baby!

This weekend..

Chrish and I decided to take a little vay cay to St. George and Vegas. It was a real treat. We went and saw Parachute and Secondhand Serenade in concert and it was really good. I actually enjoyed the opening band (parachute) the most. They were great. Anyway not a lot of pics cause it was mainly some "get away and be alone" time for me and Christian and we didn't want the cameras in our face like they always are with the paparazzi following us around all the time so... sorry.

Birthday

I had a wonderful birthday this year. I woke up on the 16th and went to breakfast at this nice little place called Food for Thought with my Mom and sister Amber. It was delightful. We then went to Unwind (a knitting store) where my mom bought me some pre-dyed yarn to make washcloths and hats (that's as far as I've gotten with knitting). I picked out some super cute yarn and then we went home. I walked in my door and saw this...

My sweet husband had been slaving away on this end table for me. I've wanted one to go right here in my house for a long time now and just haven't gotten one. This table was a lot of hard work. He found it in all its beauty from the 60s BRIGHT ORANGE and out in one of the sheds at his parents house. He had to strip the orange paint off and fix it up all nice. Thanks to his little sister Leslie they were able to work on it together and finish it up on time. It is perfect and I love it. Christian also re-framed one of our pictures that I got him for his birthday when we were juniors in high school. The frame had broke on it and I'd been meaning to get it framed again. AND THEN he also got me a clearplay DVD player! My dream come true because I LOVE watching movies, and so many of the movies that I really want to see (like Happy-go-lucky, or Rachel Getting Married, or Slumdog Millionare) are rated R and cuss a lot and I hate watching movies like that, I just didn't grow up watching them and I don't like it when you have to wade through all the filth to get a little bit of good. So ANYWAY what this dvd player does is filters all the crap and edits it. So I'm really excited for that. We haven't gotten to use it a lot yet since we've been gone but I'm sure it will be super. And then to round it all off we left at 10:00 pm that night to go to Costa Rica! Thanks to Christian and My family and friends it was a really nice day. Christian is a real thoughtful guy and I'm super grateful for him.

Graduation!

Our little sister Leslie is graduating, and with silver cords even! Something Christian and I never did! (we graduated but not with silver cords, we graduated with gold cords...or no cords, I can't really remember). Anyway we're real proud of the person she is and has become. She's super awesome. We love you Les! Way to be.

Complaints

After receiving a few complaints about the graphic nature of my ear picture I have decided to update my blog so that it's not the first thing you see. We haven't done too many super cool things lately, not yet anyway, but Christian can still jump really high and Titan is still a hoot. So...that's really the update. Oh and Christian has finished school for the summer and I'm super excited to start working for Signs of Hope International again. (www.signsofhopeinternational.org). We will be taking some trips to St George in the summer and hopefully a more exotic trip in June or July. We'll keep you posted. Anyway that's about it.

This is just me trying to express my hidden talent in photography. My father in law just had some old stuff laying around out side and the sunset was hitting it perfectly and I thought it looked really cool. Do what you want with it.

Every year we have a big bonfire with Christians relatives. It's always real special.

And this is our dog, Titan. We take him to the park and play with him and when he gets a little too hot he just plops down in the water. He's real funny and we sure do love him. Way to be Titan.

And this is my high flyin' man. He just decided instead of going around the river like the rest of us have to do he'd cut the time in half and jump across beating us by a mile. Show off. JK. But I am real proud of his gastrocnemius'.
