Happy V-Day

We decided to spend our V-day in Wyoming with 10 feet of snow. We took everything we needed, food, friends, and warm clothes. We expected that the other things we needed for survival would already be up there, ie: snowmobiles, snow, cabins and WATER. But NO! For the second time this year the water pumps froze on us! So for the first day we had no water. Luckily for us we had some hard working boys there to go into town, buy insulation, dig a hole in the ground (slight exaggeration) and install insulation to create heat. It worked!!! We just kept thinking how lucky we were that it wasn't an "all girls" trip or we would have been screwed. Once the water was on everything was perfect. Nothing better than playing Mafia with some of the funniest people in the world, and beating the boys at cranium...twice. The only other bummer is that I totally forgot my camera, Mallory's was almost dead and Britt lost hers in the snow. SO needless to say we didn't get too many pics. Oh well. It was still a blast.

Ten things you probably didn't know about me

1. I slept with a stuffed bulldog named Ruffles until I got married.
2. I have a star named after me. Like in real life. A boyfriend from high school did it for me for one of my brithdays. (www.starregistry.com). Check it out, it's totally legit!
3. I painted the two extra bedrooms in my house in hopes that my unborn children would look down and see how cool they were and BEG Heavenly Father to let them come down and live in their new rooms. Nothing so far...but I'll keep you posted.
4. My biggest pet peeve ever is when someone makes a mistake and they feel so guilty for it that they blame everything around them, except for their own stupidity. ie: Their religion, their bishop, Utah, their family life, school, etc.
5. My even BIGGER pet peeve than my biggest pet peeve ever is when people say that "Mormons are so judgmental". That's like saying "Anyone who has had alcohol is abusive". So Maybe SOME Mormons are (because lets face it mormons are just people too) but what does that make you for judging them about being judgmental? It just doesn't make sense and it's a lame excuse to leave or hate the church. If something like that causes you to leave the church then you weren't in it for the right reasons anyway right?
6. Everyone knows that my whole life I've been obsessed with Ireland. But if I had the chance to go to Ireland right now, or to even just see the kids I lived with in Africa, I would choose the kids a million times over. They changed my life. Which leads me to number 7...
7. If I had the resources and if Christian would let me I would adopt a little boy from the deaf school in Mampong where I taught. When I was there in May this little boy told me I could take him home with me and that his Dad wouldn't be mad at me because his Daddy is a preacher and preachers don't get mad.
8. I LOVE to play basketball. It's my favorite sport to play. But I ALWAYS let my temper get the best of me when I play (And even when Christian plays). I really don't want to be that Mom who yells from the side lines and everyone thinks she's crazy and my kids stop playing sports because they are so embarrassed...but I think I might be. No matter how much I tell myself I will just have fun and that it's just ward ball if a girl gets in my face I can't help but dish it right back. And honestly it's one of the things I dislike most about me and it always makes me embarrassed in the end. But somehow I can't control it. It is one of the major reasons I quit playing basketball in high school when all my coaches, friends and family told me I'd be crazy to let a talent go to waste. I knew I couldn't control it and it made me feel stupid so I removed my self from the situation all together.
9. I can honestly say I fell in love with Christian the moment I met him in 9th grade. I know that sounds silly or cheezy and when I look at my little sisters who are at that age now I think there is no way they could know if they love someone that much when they are that young! But it's true and that's all I can say. Our relationship hasn't always been perfect but he's been my best friend through everything. Lucky me.
10. I always toast and butter my pop tarts, I stick my cheetos in my yogurt, I always put milk in my ice cream and I put cream cheese on just about everything else.

So it's been a while...

Well I sure haven't blogged for quite sometime. And like usual I feel that pictures tell stories best so here is a recap of what we have been up to as of late. Honestly last month was one of the craziest months ever, but it was good. And although I would like to go into more detail, I probably shouldn't. So here is how it went last month, without the details.
PAINTING! And if you don't like this color, tell me. I know it's kind of a poopy green so... is that the first thing that came to your mind when you saw it?
PAINTING! (Thanks for your help Les and Chrisht... wait Christian didn't help. Okay yes he did, a little.)
Cooking and eating a real authentic Chinese meal.
Um... see? Doesn't it look good?
Umm... see? Doesn't he look good?
Our dog is getting bigger, and more possessed I guess. But he is still the cutest ever.

We went to go see the lights, like 3 months ago...aren't they great?

The bubble story

Leslie got stuck in a bubble.
Titan got left outside of the bubble.
Leslie fell asleep inside the bubble.
